Tony Yuncheng Liu

Hi, I’m Tony, cofounder of Broadway Theatre Arts Club with 6 years of experience in drama. I’ve experienced different forms of drama from Greek tragedies to Chinese classical theatre and Brechitian styles.

To me, drama is a flexible creative art inviting us to free ourselves from our daily personas and immerse us into new identities we’ve created on stage.

My Story

I was the finalists in the EdTA Drama Shenzhen Festival for three years, competing in monologues, duologues, and improv. I was known for casting comedic characters such as Hector, the humorous high school boy who only cares about science related stuff in the Black Night Adolescents show and the bossy Director who was annoyed by the unprofessional actors in the Titanic but it Goes Wrong. I've also tried more intense serious roles, such as Josh in Hospital Food. There is no acting standards in drama, we could be anyone aside from our normal selves.

In addition to acting, I have a passion for playwriting across different performance styles, including To the Perfect Worlds of Mortals, a modern realistic playwright that received an honorable mention in the 2021 EdTA Playwright Competition, and the dystopian Dreamer Under the White Vacuity Play for the Princeton Playwright 10-Minute Contest.
